The DeepTau DiTau path

Full name in the config: HLT_DoubleMediumDeepTauPFTauHPS35_eta2p1.

This path reconstructs \tau leptons by using the HPS (described in the HPS section) algorithm. Identification is then done via DeepTau, a Deep Neural Network (DNN) based on DeepJet.

  • L1 seed: pDoublePuppiTau52_52
  • The discriminator is derived by inference of the DeepTau DNN - this is done in hltHpsSelectedPFTausMediumDitauWPDeepTau, which is a PFTauSelector EDFilter.
  • The final filter is of type HLT1PFTau (called hltHpsDoublePFTau35MediumDitauWPDeepTau) - it adds some additional cuts on the \tau's which pass the isolation filters. These cuts are \eta<2.1, p_{T}>35, and MinN=2.
